You’ll most likely have Gili Trawangan included on your travel itinerary if you are planning to go to Indonesia. This tiny slice of paradise is a popular choice for backpackers and lives up to all expectations. About the Gili Islands

Three islands are located east of Bali, off Lombok’s coast, the Gili Islands. Gili Trawangan Gili Meno Gili Air are the Gilis. Literally, “Gili” means “island”. The Gilis are well-known for their beautiful white sand beaches and crystal-clear water. They also have incredible coral reefs. The most developed is Gili Trawangan, which measures 3 km long by 2 km wide.

The Fast Boat to Gili Trawangan From Bali

Because fast boat to gili trawangan is Indonesia’s most popular destination, it is most commonly the best route to get there. You can reach Padang Bai Port, located on the east-central side of Bali. How to arrange transportation from Bali to Gilitrawangan

Booking through your accommodation or travel agent is the best way to organize your transport from Bali to Gili Trawangan. Tourist agencies can be found in every major town of Bali. Ask around to find the best price and negotiate. Prices can fluctuate according to the season. A round-trip ticket generally costs less than two single-destination tickets, and the return ticket is usually open. These tickets include pick-up from your accommodation. It will typically be a minibus/van with multiple stops to pick up other travelers in Canggu, Seminyak, and Kuta.

You can also arrange your own taxi ride to Padang Bai Port using a private driver, taxi or ride-sharing app such as Grab or GoJek. Although this is more convenient as you don’t need to be there as early as with a direct trip, you will pay an additional fee. Although you can buy your boat ticket at any of the boat company offices, prices may not always be as low. Ekajaya advertises IDR550,000 one-way and Blue Water Express advertises IDR630,000 one-way.

How to Travel from Ubud to The Gili Islands

It is more difficult to travel from Ubud because of the distance between Ubud and the port from which the ferry departs. To help you understand what to expect, I will describe how we reached the Gilia Islands by ferry from Ubud. Following that, I will share some tips to make your journey easier.

Komang, our friend, helped us to book our Ubud ticket. We were shown a brochure by Komang’s friend advertising a round-trip ferry that included air-conditioned transportation from any Ubud hotel or south Bali beach area. It cost $120 per person. Although we were able to reduce the price, it was quite a hassle.

Most fast boats allow you to bring a 20-25kg bag per person plus your carry-on. This luggage allowance is fair and matches what you will have onboard the plane when you fly into Bali.
